What is Liability Insurance?

Simply put, liability insurance covers you for damages you are held legally responsible for causing bodily injury or property damage to someone else. Here are the more common types:

· Personal Auto – for damages caused while driving your vehicle.

· Professional (Errors & Omissions)- for damages caused while performing your occupation: doctors, lawyers, accountants, computer consultants, etc.

· Personal- for damages caused during everyday life: recreation, travel, daily routine not included above.

· General - covers losses caused by negligent acts on the premises of a business, injury resulting from the use of a product manufactured or distributed by a business.

· Business Auto – coverage for cars, trucks and vans used by employees for business purposes. Business vehicles are not covered by a business owners policy or personal auto insurance.

· Employer’s Liability (Worker’s Comp) for when you are injured working as an employee.

· D&O (Officers & Directors) cover the acts of those in the director or officer position of a company or non-profit organization.

Note: intentional or illegal acts are never covered by insurance.
